Medica Shape Up Challenge Second Place Winners

Eight VAA employees participated in the recent Medica Shape Up Challenge. Our team won second place in our Division.

VAA Wins Bronze Award for Wellness Program

Hennepin County presents Wellness by Design Awards annually to companies for excellence in promoting healthy and safe places to work. VAA was a first-time winner of the award at the Bronze level for the design of our wellness program (VAA: Valuing Active Attitudes). We received a framed certificate and banner.

VAA Welcomes New Structural Engineer

We are pleased to welcome Kevin Full, PE, LEED AP to the VAA structural team. Kevin is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and has five years of structural design experience. Initially, Kevin will be working on Industrial and Agribusiness sector projects.

VAA Exhibits at 2010 Fuel Ethanol Workshop

Bernie Jansen and Scott Stangeland attended the annual FEW workshop held at America's Center in St. Louis, MO in June. The FEW focuses on alternative fuels and ethanol production, research and development. VAA has designed ethanol production facilities in Minnesota, Nebraska, Kentucky and Saskatchewan.

Ahmet Senyurekli named Vice President of CASE/MN

Ahmet Senyurekli was recently promoted from the office of Secretary to the office of Vice President for CASE/MN (The Council of American Structural Engineers in MN). CASE/MN is made up of representatives of MN firms providing structural engineering design. The purpose of the organization is to provide a forum to improve the quality and practice of structural engineering.

David Olheiser Attends PNWGF Trade Show

David Olheiser, PE represented VAA at the Pacific Northwest Grain & Feed show in Sun Valley, ID in June. VAA has designed projects for several clients in the Washington and Oregon shipping locales. The annual show gives us an opportunity to connect with past, present and potential clients in the northwest region.

Mark Glennon Passes MN PE Exam

VAA, LLC would like to congratulate Project Civil Engineer Mark Glennon who recently joined the ranks of licensed Professional Engineers.
Mark has been with VAA since March of 2007. In his spare time, Mark enjoys playing guitar, woodworking, camping, canoeing, fishing and watching sprint car racing.
